What we fix
Stone damage isn't mysterious. Every mark has a mechanism, and the mechanism decides the fix. Here's what we see most, what causes it, and what we do about it.
Etching
Dull marks where something acidic (citrus, wine, vinegar, many cleaners) has chemically attacked a calcite stone like marble, limestone or travertine. It doesn't wipe off and it doesn't buff out at home.
We re-polish the surface back to its original finish. Most kitchens, one visit.
Send photosChips
Impact damage, usually to edges, corners, and around sinks. DIY glues don't bond properly and often stain the stone.
We fill with colour-matched resins and polish flush. The repair is structural, not cosmetic.
Send photosStains
Liquid that has penetrated the stone: oils go dark, organics go brown, metals go orange. Surface cleaning won't reach them.
We draw stains out with poulticing or refinish the surface, depending on depth and stone.
Send photosDull or worn stone
Polish lost to traffic, wear, or years of the wrong cleaner. The stone underneath is usually fine.
We mechanically re-polish (engineered stone, granite, marble) back to the intended finish.
Send photosScratches
Grit, dragged cookware, cutting on the surface. Light marks are often surface transfer; deep scratches catch a fingernail.
Both are repairable with diamond abrasives and refinishing.
Send photosFailed joints
Seams that have opened, dropped, or stained, usually from cabinet movement or adhesive age. Open joints collect moisture and get worse.
We re-bond, level, and reseal.
Send photosDropped sinks
Under-mount sinks that have sagged or detached from the stone. Don't prop it and wait. The stress cracks the cut-out.
We resecure with proper brackets and adhesives and check the surrounding stone.
Send photosNot sure which one you're looking at? That's normal. It's our job, not yours. Send photos and a sentence or two, and we'll tell you exactly what it is.
We also restore stone floors and bathroom surfaces, same enquiry path.
